Bull Creek once had a tram system to haul the cypress from this often wet terrain. The trail follows the old road, and remnants of the tram road are still visible in several places. Turpentine and pitch were also harvested here: some of the slash pines still bear the scars (called “cat faces”). This trail, quite wet at times, passes through pine flatwoods, cypress and hardwood swamps, and scrub oak. In spring and summer, parts of the area are ablaze with wildflowers.
