This 475-acre site with 6 miles of hiking trails offers a thorough look at pine flatwoods, sandhill, bayhead swamp, and oak hammocks in a very compact area. The trails follow old dirt bike paths that were cut through the woods before the land was purchased for the Seminole County Natural Lands Program. The site also is a crucial recharge area for what is called the Geneva Bubble, a local aquifer that supplies much of the region’s drinking water. The Bubble is named after the nearby community of Geneva. Deer, turkey, turtles, and snakes are the predominant wildlife, although it’s possible to see wading birds on the section of trail that borders Lake Proctor. Although motorbikers were the ones who laid the foundation for the trail system, they are now banned. Only hikers, bikers, and equestrians are allowed to use the pathways. Special Attractions: Easy walking through a diverse landscape.
