This 1,700-acre preserve located near Leesburg encompasses two wooded islands (Flat Island and Magnolia Island) and a huge wetland known as the Okahumpka Marsh. It is a uniquely situated marsh, the hydraulic divide between surface waters that flow eastward toward the Ocklawaha River and to the Atlantic and westward to the Withlacoochee River and the Gulf of Mexico. Special Attractions: The diverse animal life of the wetlands.
