Includes: Sinkhole Nature Trail, Silver River Nature Trail. Although Silver Springs is a privately-owned attraction, the 530-million gallons of water it produces each day has formed a huge spring run, in this case the beautiful, clear Silver River. About 4 miles of the river flows through the 2,300-acre Silver River park which contains dozens of its own small springs. If most of the property wasn’t lowlands and therefore unsuited for building, this stretch of river would have developed long ago. Evidence of occupation goes back at least 10,000 years. Special Attractions: The river walk and fourteen distinct natural communities. A museum and pioneer village are open weekends from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
