One of the most ecologically diverse places on Vancouver Island, this old-growth temperate rain forest is home to some of the world’s largest and oldest Sitka spruce trees. Measuring 95 meters, the Carmanah Giant is said to be the world’s tallest Sitka spruce. Endangered marbled murrelets nest on mossy pads of these trees. In addition, stands of old-growth Sitka spruce like the ones located in the floodplain of the Carmanah Valley are said to have the greatest biomass of any place on Earth. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
