One of the lengthier hikes on northern Vancouver Island, the hike to the cape passes through old-growth forests, historical settlements, storm-tossed beaches, and mudsoaked wetlands. While the historical features of the trail are some of the most unusual in the province, this hike also offers excellent views and a plethora of beach-walking opportunities. Some features include a giant Sitka spruce (7.2 meters in circumference), hand-built dikes, a plank road, and a native shell midden.
