This is a full-day hike over rugged coastline through Douglas fir, western hemlock, and Sitka spruce forest combined with arbutus groves. Reminders of the area’s rich past mingle with continuous ocean vistas. Considered one of the Island’s most popular wilderness hikes, this rocky seaside climb offers the chance to view a pod of orcas, blacktailed deer, otters, eagles, and turkey vultures that migrate here in fall. Located between Beechey Head and Becher Bay, Alldridge Farm is home to ancient rock carvings that were created by Coast Salish peoples. Recent “petroglyphs” have been added alongside these unique pictures in the way of graffiti.
