The Galloping Goose includes a sampling of urban and rural vistas. The trail—named for a local 1920s railway car—cuts through British Columbia’s capital city of Victoria. Highlights include wildflower fields, wall murals, rocky outcrops, graffiti, Garry oak, ocean views, wetlands, lakes, and streams. Because this trail encompasses such a wide variety of city and nature, its highlights include everything from breathtaking ravines and country fields to inspiring murals and creek restoration projects. Given the trail’s unique railway past, it is different from most other hiking trails in that it includes lengthy trestle bridges and vistas formerly seen through a train window.
