A nice short walk past the ruins of Glacier House to the confluence of the Illecillewaet River and Asulkan Brook. Perfect for a picnic and afternoon stroll. At the trailhead for this short stroll, you’ll meet up with a bit of history—the ruins of Glacier House. Traveling across Canada by train in 1886 was a hungry business, and the Canadian Pacific Railway preferred not to haul their heavy dining cars through the treacherous Rogers’ Pass. Instead they stationed a dining car here, on the old route of the railway, so that weary passengers could stretch their legs and eat lunch while enjoying the view of the Illecillewaet Glacier (southeast). currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
