A nice hike up Glacier Crest with panoramic views, including an up-close look at the Asulkan Glacier. You won’t even notice if you’re short of breath after completing the 795-meter ascent to the top of this trail. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. You won’t even notice if you’re short of breath after completing the 795-meter ascent to the top of this trail. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. At the trailhead for this hike, you’ll come across the ruins of Glacier House. After the main line through Rogers Pass was moved underground in 1916, the house no longer attracted explorers. Glacier House was burned in 1929, and here lie its ruins. Walk alongside the ruins while enjoying the view of the glacier straight ahead (southeast). Enter the trees following a wide, dirt trail until you reach the junction for Meeting of the Waters at 0.5 kilometer (Hike 69), and continue straight ahead (south) to Glacier Crest.
