An unmaintained trail that follows the Kicking Horse River to Chancellor Peak Campground. This trail is more often cycled than hiked. While flat, it is extremely challenging and is not maintained past 4.9 kilometers (many adventurers end up abandoning the trail out of frustration and return to the trailhead). From this point on the trail is overgrown with shrubs; even on the warmest day, you should wear pants to protect your legs from a needless lashing. Sunglasses are also a must, as much of the overgrowth is eye-level. (I attempted to ride with my eyes closed, and I certainly would not recommend this to others.) Once you’re prepared for some heavy bushwhacking—climbing over fallen trees and through the dense shrubbery—you can attempt this trail. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
