The picturesque region of Bas-Saint-Laurent extends east along the St. Lawrence River from the little town of La Pocatière to the village of Sainte-Luce, and south to the United States and New Brunswick borders. In addition to the particularly fertile areas next to the river, much of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, literally the lower St. Lawrence, consists of forests and gently rolling hills glittering with lakes and streams. The Bas-Saint-Laurent region was first settled during the New France era. This trail guide includes hiking trails at Roseraie du Temiscouata, Halte Ecologique des Battures de Saint-Andre-de-Kamouraska (Batture Trail and Panoramique Trail), Islands of the Bas-Saint-Laurent (Ile du Pot a l'Eau-de-Vie, Ile aux Lievres, and the Les Pelerins Archipelago), Baie de l'Isle-Verte National Wildlife Area (La Digue Trail, Le Roitelet Trail, and the Sentier de la Montagne Loop), Trois-Pistoles Trails (Sentier du Sault MacKenzie, Sentiers de la Halte Routiere - Rest-Stop Trails, Sentier d'Interpretation - Interpretation Trail, and Ile aux Basques), Pohenegamook Sante Plein Air (Ecologique Trail, Escalade Trail. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States.
