Given that the steep central portion of this trail connects St. Mary’s School with Westminster Abbey, the Benedictine Order’s edifice on the ridge above, you might consider “Pilgrim’s Way” a suitable name for this walk at the east end of Mission City, even though it does have flat sections at its beginning and end. In fact, the whole walk has an ecclesiastical flavour, starting as it does in the Fraser River Heritage Park located near the few remaining relics of the original mission and residential school, operated by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
