Pitt River with its succession of dykes offers many fine outings, and this one, with its superb upriver views, must rank high on any aesthetic scale. You have a choice of distance as well: a short trip of 4 km (2.5 mi) and another of more than double that length, the latter providing you with a stretch of the Alouette River for good measure. For the shorter excursion, turn north off Highway 7 (Lougheed Highway) on Dewdney Trunk Road just east of the Pitt River bridge. Go left at the T-junction onto Harris Road and drive to the end of that thoroughfare at the river dyke, crossing the Alouette River en route. To embark on the longer walk, stop at the bridge over the Alouette, the better parking space being on the south side. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
