One of Hope’s attractions is the historic Kettle Valley Railway and the Othello-Quintette Tunnels, that succession of bridges and passages by which the Coquihalla Canyon was made passable for rail traffic. Here you may marvel at the pertinacity of these railroad builders who produced one of the most expensive pieces of trackage not only in Canada, but in the world. The 2-km (1.2-mi) stroll through the tunnels and back will take you no more than 45 minutes, only enough to whet your appetite for more; and more you may experience by combining this piece of history with an earlier attempt to link the coast with the interior—the Hope–Nicola Valley Cattle Trail, constructed in 1875 using in part a trade route carved out in 1860. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
