Since the total distance from Mud Bay in the east to Beach Grove at the bay’s western end is 16 km (10 mi), only the superfit, cyclists and two-car groups are likely to attempt this route in its entirety. Fortunately, there are numerous intermediate access points, so you may choose the distance you wish to cover in this interesting regional park, with its marine and mountain views and variety of birds. The whole area is particularly rich in birdlife and is of international importance to migrating and wintering birds. Waterfowl and shorebirds are common, but you may come across a snowy owl if you are lucky, and hawks and eagles may also be seen on the stretch between the dyke and the sands of the bay. There, too, you may spot small mammals such as the coyote. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
