Use of the Baden-Powell Trail as part of its circumference permits you to undertake an interesting circular outing in the Hollyburn-Cypress area, which includes unspoiled forest and various small lakes but, alas, some human-spoiled landscape as well. Or, if you do not wish to make the complete circuit, you may hike only the more appealing ridge section, of some 5.6 km (3.5 mi), using a two-car operation. Your best point of departure is Parking Lot 5 on the left side of Cypress Parkway, located about 11 km (7 mi) from its beginning at Exit 8 offHighway 1/99 (Upper Levels Highway). By starting here, you get the least aesthetic part of your excursion over at the beginning, when you have to walk a short distance uphill on the road.
