Although this hike starts inside Manning Provincial Park, the mountain itself, and 90 per cent of the hike, is outside the park. It is educational to look at the shape of the park boundaries and investigate why the strange little panhandle exists. There is another historical aspect to this trip since some of the route is along Engineers Road, which was built around 1860 as a route to the Interior. The mountain itself provides a fine hike into high open country with panoramic views from the top, since Mount Outram is the highest point in the area. The peak is also close to the eastern perimeter of the Cascade Mountains, therefore the view to the northeast is of a much gentler landscape than the view to the west and south. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
