This is one of those unusual trips where, although it is possible to drive all the way to a summit cluttered with antennae, it is still worth hiking there. The value stems from two things. Firstly the road ascends on the north slope, therefore snow lies late, the snow patches stopping vehicles for much of the year. Second, the summit is wide and rolling, and you do not have to be far off the road to forget that it is there. So, if you time it just right, you can catch the summit meadows in full flower before the 4WD hordes arrive. Even after, drive your outdoor-loving grandmother up here; she’ll adore it! One final bonus: the old B.C. Forest Service lookout still has the fire-sighting device installed. You can sit in the tower and play fire-watcher. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
