Bear Mountain lies to the east of Harrison Hot Springs at the south end of Harrison Lake. The ascent provides a day of not-too-strenuous exercise and some striking views of both Harrison Lake and Harrison River as you ascend. The bonus is the jump-out-and-hit-you-in-the-eye view from the top: you clear the trees and there’s the winding Fraser River below with the Cheam Range ramping up behind. You can see the valley from Hope to Vancouver (if the smog is not too bad), and since all the straightforward Cheam Range hikes are from the other side, this is a view that you do not normally see. This summit is also used by paragliders who helicopter to the top, then attempt to land on the beach at Harrison Hot Springs. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
