For long enough the ridge and the peak of this beautifully shaped mountain were accessible only by a bushwhack from a spur that branched left off the Harvey Creek logging road a short distance after it has parted from the Magnesia Creek road. All that changed in the 1980s when Halvor Lunden created a fine route to Harvey’s southwest ridge. And the name? Like so many other coastal features it commemorates an eighteenth-century British naval officer, Capt. John Harvey, who served under Admiral Howe. Now the subordinate looks down upon his one-time commander. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
