This trip takes you into the alpine country on the divide between the Squamish and Cheakamus Rivers. Among the peaks, glaciers, meadows and lakes are many objectives, only two of which are listed here: the large lake below Cypress Peak or the subsidiary summit of Tricouni Peak, which gives panoramic views. The times and elevations quoted are from the landing at the trailhead. From the landing the trail drops slightly to follow the creek upstream on river-left. There is occasional flagging tape for marking but the footbed is obvious, especially when you get to the mud holes! You are immediately into subalpine meadows in a narrow valley bottom, therefore it is wet underfoot. This is not a trail to hike in the wet season. It is a scenic walk beside the creek and less than 1.5 hours to the first lake. Here the views open out, with Tricouni Peak to your right. The west summit is the rounded peak on the left; if that is your objective, take the line of least resistance in that direction. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
