It is one of the most rewarding trips from Elfin Lakes and takes you across Ring Creek and past Opal Cone. You also cross Zig Zag Creek to reach this lake, beautifully situated at the foot of Pyramid Mountain. Alas the lake is 150 m (500 ft) lower than your start at Elfin Lakes. This is a longish one-day trip with most of the climbing on the return journey. However, you do have a shorter alternative in Opal Cone itself, a round trip that gives splendid views of Mount Garibaldi and the Bishop Glacier as well as of the glaciated sprawl of the Mamquam Massif. Of course, if you are feeling energetic, you can traverse over the top of Opal Cone on your way to Mamquam Lake. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
