As overnight visitors to Eagle Lake quickly discover, flat ground on which to pitch a tent is rare. Rather than scratching out a small spot on the rocky, uneven terrain surrounding Eagle Lake, consider setting up camp at the nearby Symphony Tarns. These two placid lakes have all that you could ask for in a campsite. Situated below vertiginous mountain walls, and separated by a steep but walkable ridge, the Symphony Tarns offer seclusion, solitude, and excellent views over Eagle and Symphony Lakes. They also make a worthy day trip or staging site for a climb up Triangle Peak.
