A short, interesting, and fun loop from Cheyenne Canyon through the Broadmoor and up to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the route gains most of its elevation on quiet and pleasant Marland Road South, tucked behind the Broadmoor golf course. This loop starts, somewhat arbitrarily, from the Stratton Open Space parking area in lower Cheyenne Canyon. The truth is you could start from anywhere over there, from the Broadmoor or, for that matter, from downtown or Manitou Springs. The basic idea is to head up South Cheyenne Canyon (left at the fork), just to enjoy that delightful, too short section of winding road, then crank a sharp left and bob along fast rollers to the Broadmoor hotel.
