Don’t miss this Colorado classic, a beautiful and unique 42-mile loop with lots of climbing west of Fort Collins. This awesome ride through the foothills west of Fort Collins could go by several different names. It could be called the Big Horsetooth Reservoir Loop, or the Stove Prairie Loop, or the Rist Canyon Loop just as easily as the Masonville Loop. You’ll see a lot of territory on this classic. The loop could go either direction and could be started niftily from the Fort, or any one of a number of parking areas along Horsetooth Reservoir. If you’re starting from the Masonville crossroads and rolling clockwise, the first leg of the journey is a big climb, but a moderate, rolling one.
