Follow this out-and-back trail to the tallest waterfall in the Ozarks. While HemmedIn Hollow Waterfall flows year-round, the 210-foot waterfall is most impressive after a period of consistent rainfall. Early spring, after heavy summer storms, and fall tend to be the best times for maximum water flows. Spring and fall are particularly ideal due to cooler temperatures and either spring wildflowers or fall foliage. There is no doubt that Hemmed-In Hollow is a special place. Nestled in the heart of the Arkansas Ozarks, Hemmed-In Hollow is surrounded by the Ponca Wilderness Area. The 11,300-acre Ponca Wilderness Area is known for its rough terrain as well as its abundance of scenic wonders that include towering bluffs, scenic waterfalls, curious caves and cave-like formations, and clear mountain streams and springs.
