Se-shalt, meaning ā€œplace of shelter from the sea,ā€ is the perfect name for the inlet that offers beginner paddlers a taste of coastal kayaking. More than 150 ha (370 a.) located along the shores of Sechelt Inlet, Salmon Inlet and Narrows Inlet are protected in Mount Richardson Provincial Park and Sechelt Inlets Provincial Marine Park, which together comprise nine marine parks and give you a chance to experience wilderness without traveling far. From the ideal learning environment of Sechelt Inlet to the exposed 32-km (20-mi.) coastline between Gibsons and Sechelt, the Sunshine Coast offers some of the best paddling experiences in southwestern British Columbia.
