Lake of Isles, though in the throes of a Eurasian water-milfoil invasion, still provides a wonderful place to paddle, with a highly varied shoreline, clean water, sandy bottom, huge granite boulders along the shore, several attractive islands, and no development— except for a few old Boy Scout structures no longer in use. We hope that the state reclamation program will remove the destroyed docks that dot the shoreline of nearly every cove. Expect to see: great blue heron, scenic forested hillsides, shrubby shoreline.
