Lee Creek begins just south of West Fork, Arkansas, and flows southwest to the Arkansas River near Van Buren, Arkansas. Along the way, the tributaries of Blackburn Creek, Fall Creek, Cove Creek, and Mountain Fork Creek add to the flow of Lee Creek. Lee Creek is a typical Ozark Mountains stream with willow jungles, rock gardens, and an occasional waterfall. Water quality is very good, and the milky green water characteristic of this area is at its best on Lee Creek. Hardwood forests line the steep banks along much of the creek. The autumn months bring out some of the most spectacular scenery in the Ozarks. Lee Creek tends to be less touched by civilization than many other streams due to its remoteness and protection in the Ozark National Forest. Access is very limited below AR 220, and local inquiry should be made about road conditions near Lee Creek Community.
