Doyle Creek is a marshy tributary of the lower Apalachicola Bay estuary. This smallish tidal stream is also part of the extensive wetlands of the Apalachicola Wildlife and Environmental Area, whose waterways form an aquatic network of tidal veins pulsing through this remote area of Florida. This is but one of many paddling routes in the Apalachicola delta. In fact, Whiskey George Creek and Cash Creek are within a few miles of Doyle Creek, availing paddling opportunities galore. Doyle Creek presents a chance to paddle a tidal marsh stream to its headwaters where pines, oaks, and the vast forests of the Apalachicola River watershed close in on the paddler. Birdlife is abundant, from ospreys to red-winged blackbirds.
