Graham Creek and East River are freshwater components of lower Apalachicola Bay estuary. These creeks are located on Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Lands and are managed to protect the watershed and all the life within. Known as the greater Apalachicola Wildlife and Environmental Area, these waterways meander through the vast floodplain forests in the lower Apalachicola River delta. Black bears and other wild critters call this home. Paddlers call this a new opportunity to ply their boats through many of the waterways that extend throughout this region, for the Graham Creek–East River paddle route is but one of many marked paddle paths in the Apalachicola River Wildlife and Environmental Area Paddling Trail System. Trips here can extend from hours to days.
