Kinchafoonee Creek is one of the major tributaries of the lower Flint River. The lower section of the creek delights with a blend of features more typical of Florida’s streams: vertical limestone bluffs dripping with water and ferns intermingling with occasional small rapids. Side creeks spill over unexpected waterfalls; a true blue-hole spring opens up within the riverbed. The upper reaches, though lacking in these singular delights, are sparse of habitation, deep of woods, and ideal for isolated canoe-camping trips. The creek meets up with the Flint River within the stilled waters of Lake Chehaw.
