Protected within the Chattooga Wild and Scenic River Area, the West Fork contains 4 miles of extremely scenic canoeing for the novice and can be used as a launching pad for longer trips into Section II of the Chattooga River. The West Fork is formed by the unusual junction of three creeks: Over?ow, Big, and Holcomb. For those interested in adding a hiking trip to the headwaters to their visit, the Three Forks trailhead is located farther up the same road as the put-in for this section. Camping opportunities in the area are good, making for inviting multiple-day trips.
