Visitor use is light and a permit is required. This short 1-mile section of the Green Trail veers northwest from the junction with the Blue Trail through a thick swamp forest to the overnight stop on Floyds Island. Watch for Wood Ducks, woodpeckers, and a variety of warblers. You are unlikely to encounter anyone else on the trail since use is limited to permit holders and refuge staff. Hazards: Heat exhaustion, biting and stinging insects, peat quagmires, and airboats.
