Visitor use is light to moderate; portions are open to day-use boating. This section of trail is one of the longest in the swamp. It is an intimate trail, meandering through a mix of dense shrublands and young woods. Along the way small patches of prairie and a number of small lakes provide varied scenery. Hazards: Peat quagmires, lightning, heat exhaustion, motorboats, airboats, biting insects.
