No matter where you are on the Island, be sure to make your way to the Larkin’s Pond Conservation Area. This is a must! The paddling here is some of the best on PEI. The pond, marsh, and river are all pristine. The refuge, created in 1977 by a joint partnership of Ducks Unlimited and the province, contains no shoreline homes. All the banks are lined with tall, lush, deep green freshwater marsh grass. Cattails abound, and the water is absolutely clean. Birds, especially ducks, are living in a verdant paradise. As you paddle on the pond, you will meander onto the Naufrage River, which is more of a lake than a river. Eventually you will paddle under a Confederation Trail bridge into an expansive marsh. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
