The final leg of the British Columbia section of the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route has three possible endings. Cyclists heading back to Vancouver take the ferry from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen. If planning to head south on the Inland Route through Washington, ride to Sidney and take the San Juan Islands ferry east to tour the islands before heading on to Anacortes. The Coho ferry to Port Angeles is the proper choice if the objective is the Peninsula Route through Washington. It departs from the heart of downtown Victoria. (The San Juan Island and Coho ferries have limited daily departures; check with a tourist information center for an up-to-date schedule.) No matter what route off Vancouver Island is chosen, plan to spend at least half a day touring Victoria. The city, often accused of being more English than England, is easy to explore by bicycle. Major attractions are within a few blocks of each other, and there are well-signed bike routes heading out in every direction. Popular attractions include the Maritime Museum and Royal BC Museum (hours can be spent here), Thunderbird Park, Empress Hotel, Parliament buildings, and Beacon Hill Park, with beautiful gardens and an excellent view south. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
