Located northeast of Albuquerque at the Sandia Peak Ski Area. The Sandia Peak Ski Area is not so much a single ride as it is a number of well-maintained trails that go up, across, and down through the ski area. There are 24 miles of trails that range from bone-jarring downhill runs to smooth buffed-out singletrack and steep, lung-busting climbs. The ski area is a great place to hang out, to take the lift up and ride down all day, or to ride the steep and technical “King of the Mountain” race course that makes a loop up to the top of the ski area and back down to the base. The trails at the ski area are well marked, so it is quite difficult to get lost. Trail surface: Single and doubletrack trails.
