Albuquerque has a network of designated bike paths throughout the city, the longest and most scenic being Paseo Del Bosque Trail. The city and county officials seem to be good about supporting bicyclists, and the future looks bright for a high-quality interconnected bike system in Albuquerque. This easy ride near the banks of the Rio Grande travels through the largest continuous cottonwood forest in the country, called the bosque, and accesses destinations such as the Rio Grande Nature Center, the historic Old Town Plaza, the Rio Grande Botanic Garden, and the Rio Grande Zoo. You can zip through the city from the North Valley to the South Valley with no traffic as many commuters do, or you can spend a day exploring all that the Rio Grande bosque has to offer. Terrain: Relatively flat; any elevation gain is barely noticeable.
