This is just one of many possible routes between these two fine, bicycle-loving college towns. This route, however, is among the most interesting, passing to the west of a line of hogbacks around Masonville and swooping into Fort Collins from above. Terrain: Rolling hills, false flats, and a few short, sharp climbs as the route approaches Fort Collins via Horsetooth Reservoir. Traffic and hazards: These roads have moderately heavy traffic, except for the roads around Masonville, which are relatively quiet. Eighty-third Street has almost no shoulder, and it gets busy around rush hour.
