Perhaps the most difficult climb on the Front Range takes you to the beautiful, undulating terrain of the Peak-to-Peak Highway. Tackle another difficult climb on Highway 72 before the cruise down Coal Creek Canyon. Who would’ve thought that a mere half century could beat you down like this? Terrain: Several long, difficult climbs that can seem relentlessly steep. Psychologically unhelpful false summits and fast descents provide only partial relief on this tough half century into the Front Range mountains. Traffic and hazards: The roads here are not as accommodating for cycling as many of the favorite Front Range routes. This is probably a good place to use a mirror.
