This moderate half century departs from downtown Denver and reaches to the geologically spectacular foothills around Morrison and the Red Rocks amphitheater. The ride cuts through the heart of Denver without encountering motor traffic by following fully separated multiuse paths (MUPs) for most of its length. Terrain: Gently rolling and flat terrain through Denver, then some moderate climbs on and around Dakota Ridge near Morrison. Traffic and hazards: Much of this route utilizes multiuse paths that are very popular but nonetheless provide cyclists with the swiftest and safest way to connect with the outskirts near Morrison.
