Mountain bikers can access great singletrack trails in Deer Creek Canyon Park. The park encompasses 1,881 acres and 10.6 miles of trails. While the Meadowlark, Golden Eagle, and Homesteader Trails are reserved for hikers only, that still leaves roughly 7.5 miles of trails for bikers. When combined with the Coyote Song Trail, located just down the road, riders can extend their route to more than 14 miles. The park offers some challenging terrain: loose, football-size rocks, steep climbs, and exposed areas. But it also offers fast descents on hard-packed terrain through ponderosa forests. In short, it’s a great ride for intermediate to more advanced riders, offering views of the foothills’ hogbacks and the Denver skyline. Terrain: Singletrack and doubletrack over loose sand and rock. While much of this trail is exposed, riders do enter into thick stands of ponderosa pine as they gain elevation.
