The Jamestown Loop is only one option in this funky old mining community. Harking to its mining roots, the area boasts myriad choices of interconnecting routes and trails. For this reason, it’s important that riders are familiar with the route and have sufficient map reading skills. The Jamestown Loop climbs through the James Creek drainage where it tops out offering views of the Indian Peaks. From its high point, the trail descends rapidly over quite technical terrain. The final descent travels over incredibly rocky and rutted terrain, as it falls steeply back to Jamestown. Terrain: Paved and four-by-four roads through quiet streets in Jamestown, and up the steep James Creek drainage over rocky terrain. Most of the trail is covered by trees.
