Lory State Park/Horsetooth Mountain Park is prime real estate for some of the area’s best mountain biking. The Mill Creek Trail is arguably one of the most technically and physically challenging rides in all of Fort Collins. With gorgeous views of Colorado’s great plains and Horsetooth Reservoir to the east, riders climb into the semiarid woodlands of Colorado’s Front Range, the first step into the Rocky Mountains. This route offers rolling terrain alongside Horsetooth Reservoir, a burly climb to Horsetooth Mountain, and a steep and rocky descent down the Mill Creek Trail. An experience reaching biblical proportions, the Mill Creek Trail is David to the Goliath-like trails of the giant Rocky Mountains. Terrain: Rocky and rolling terrain on both singletrack and dirt road surfaces.
