This out and back ride along the Colorado Trail is a well known, popular high altitude excursion, especially when the aspens are turning. And what a great view from the top of Georgia Pass and what a fast drop back into Jefferson Creek. The final climb on the way back can be a killer for those not accustom to high altitude riding and relatively high elevation gain. Dress warmly since it gets cold at 11,800 feet, even in the height of summer. TERRAIN: Smooth to rutted hardpack; frequent rocks and roots.
