This is a great mountain bike ride that uses a portion of Monarch Crest Trail. Agate Creek follows the Monarch Crest Trail for the first 8.0 miles to the Agate Creek Trail. The last part of the ride follows the gravel Old Monarch Pass Road back to Monarch Pass. The downhill section of the ride along Agate Creek is wet, technical, and fun. You can minimize your climbing by leaving a shuttle car at the Agate Creek trailhead on U.S. Highway 50, 2 miles east of Sergents, thus avoiding the climb back up to Monarch Pass. Tread: 17.2 miles on singletrack, 16.2 miles on doubletrack, and 2.0 miles on paved roads.
