Durango, already the best trail-riding spot in the universe, is made even more attractive by its close proximity to Farmington, New Mexico. Draped across the dry, bumpy foothills north of Farmington are a number of long, excellent trails. This 17.5-mile loop around the southern half of the trail network uses a few of the best sections. These trails were carved in by throttle-twisters about 40 years ago and have been raged upon by them ever since. Naturally, they have a well-chewed appearance and have been beaten into widetracks in many areas. Still, some of these sections are unbelievably fun. Those old motocross guys knew what they were doing. Trail Surface: 70% singletrack/widetrack, 29% dirt roads, and 1% paved road.
