The Jackson Creek Trail is a mellow ride through some of metro-Denver's most remote woodlands and mountains. Combining relatively easy road ascents, ridge rides of touring ease, fast and famous descents, and steady climbs through mountain flanked canyons, this route offers the most bang for your buck. The descent toward Watson Park and Jackson Creek is a blast, delivering sandy sections, rocky sections, rooty sections, and a number of dips, while the climb from Jackson Creek to your cars will have you churning your pedals. For those packing a lunch, the optional out-and-back spur will lead you to Watson Park, a great place for a picnic. Should your visit to Jackson Creek include camping, this ride passes Jackson Creek Campsite at mile 11.2. Terrain: Forest Service and jeep roads, which are typically smooth; however, some sections include sand, roots, and larger rocks, along with a variety of dips and washouts.
